Constructed between 1905 and 1912 by Baroness Beatrice de Rothschild. 

The villa and extensive gardens were built on the isthmus of Cap Ferrat overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The house was built to showcase all her collections, including many of the architectural salvage pieces collected from old chateaux, villas and gothic buildings.
